About
Equitable Dinners Atlanta is a collaborative partnership of Out of Hand Theater, The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Fulton County Remembrance Coalition and many other community partners. Launched by a short one person play, Equitable Dinners invites everyone into a shared experience of the pains and the joys of life. Participants are then guided in a facilitated conversation and share together how they can make a positive difference. Guests leave with a deeper connection with others, hopeful about the future and their role in it.
If you’ve been asking, “How can I make a difference, when this issue seems so big?” “Where can I find other people to have meaningful conversations about race?” “What can I do differently everyday to change this world?” Then you are in the right place!
INVITATION
Let’s share creative, conscious space to reflect and connect through our experiences as humans in this complex world that suggests, inaccurately, a hierarchy of human value.
The world is in a tender place. Many hearts are in a tender place, mine included. This space is meant to be a safe, facilitated space to come together in our feelings, to express our personal experiences and orient to common humanity.
This is NOT about assigning blame but giving space to our humanity and truth, figuring out how to work with what we’ve got where we are, and nurturing our courage to embody the world we want to live in, serving as lighthouses for each other and others.
Things don’t change unless we change them. We have the opportunity through big and small choices to stand as the people we want to be for the world we want to live in.
We’re in this together. Many hands make light work.
